An ongoing process
Within performance management, focus is often limited to the end of year appraisal and review, without enough attention to the conversations throughout the year that support performance improvement.
Roles and responsibilities
Staff members and their supervisors are mutually accountable for enhancing performance, supported by conversations, feedback and coaching throughout the year. Staff members are primarily accountable for their learning, performance and career, while supervisors inspire, guide and help remove the barriers – whether external or internal – that stand in the way of learning, performance and fulfillment.
